Why storage location matters
UK GDPR can still apply to UK residents' personal data when it is held outside the UK, for example when a provider offers its service to people in the UK. A UK storage address is not the whole privacy picture: ask who can access the data and where it is processed as well.
Transfers of personal data outside the UK need safeguards. Read the provider's privacy information for its transfer arrangements rather than assuming that a familiar brand keeps everything in the UK.

Of the nine consumer AI memory apps we compared on 19 October 2026, AI Twin is the only one that states UK storage. Others publish the US, “anywhere in the world”, several countries, EU on enterprise plans, local devices, or nothing. Storage location is not the same as processing location.
Does EU hosting mean my memory is stored in the UK?
No. EU hosting is not UK storage. In the checked comparison, Notion AI lists EU on Enterprise only. That is a plan-specific limit, not a UK storage statement.
