What is the 30-day window?
Several 30-day periods apply in ChatGPT, and they cover different things: logs of deleted saved memories, what reference chat history learnt from past chats, and deleted chats.

How do I make ChatGPT actually forget something?
Delete the saved memory
Open Settings, Personalisation, Manage memories, and delete the entry.

From the memory summary, choose Delete and turn off memory. Memories may be recreated if you turn memory back on.

Does Claude work the same way?
On chats, yes: deleting a conversation leaves its memories in place. Claude also has Reset memory, which deletes all memories at once.

How does AI Twin handle deletion?
AI Twin also has a window after deletion, before anonymisation runs.
Deleted items can be restored from Trash until the anonymisation runs, in case of a mistake.
